tired yes, almost lost and blinded by its own feelings.
but this work is so polite with its pastel colors and well behaved brush strokes. it is so good to see I can be civilized sometimes.
I took the day for painting…. it took me a bit more than 7 hours but totally worth. I allowed the brush speak and only observed. it was like God holding my hand while I said: ” can I stop now? I am tired” hahaha!!! Thank You for this gift.

perfect day, drizzle all the time falling by the side of the opened window in calm and silence, a nice tea, wonderful potatoes for lunch, nice music, praying and a good painting at the end……
because it is summer here I don’t sleep so much at night, I woke up in the morning and don’t know how only started to paint with any of my typical resistance. Now, past 5:00 pm I am exhausted and believe don’t need to go to work tonight. so soon I will dive into the bed and dream with pastel colors while the drizzle falling outside.

If on the earlier painting I was not spontaneous following the plan from the first to the last brush stroke, on this one finished today I totally lost myself. When I finished it was hateful to me, ugly and a big fail, now I love this work. It looks like an MC5 song from the “Kick out the jams” album… hum… I should listen this album again, it has been a couple of months I don’t. Well… at least this is how it looks to me now.
I have faced doubts about what way to take on my work….. it is getting too complicated, different of all the visual simplicity it used to have. Both are intense, strong and sincere….. I just don’t know what is going to happen and how I am going to deal with it.
I really don’t want to take the control, only allow the painting keep being itself as a “noble free spirit female” must to be.

Other thing is about : “For whom have I painted for ?” hahaha.

Who likes what I am doing ?
Not the typical hipster always looking for the next trend.
Not the people that likes fine art and “well painted oil paintings” with conventional images.
Not the old typical academics with head in wax that worth ship abstract painting and that second half 20th century hegemony of NY-London cheap conceptual art.
Not the “kids” and nerds crazy for tumblr-devian fantastic-impressive illustration.
Doesn’t matter how many people exist on this world interested in art… it seems that I have painted for no one.

so… it is Fridays’ early in the morning and I have already finished my painting. yey !
And I like this work.
I decided to name it Cottage’s Hanger as when I finished it brought me feelings of lost memories about an old hanger in a cottage at the mountains I used to go when I was a kid. I can even feel the smell of the horses passing lazy by the front door in the sunny mornings with the ice of the grass being transformed in steam. I finished this painting almost the same hour of these memories. But what made me remember of it was the colors and the vertical stripes. ….that old hanger by the side of the front door…. wonderful.
I woke up at 00:30 and wasn’t able to sleep anymore. So I decided to go to the studio and just sit, first didn’t have intention to start to paint as I like to paint with he light of the morning, But when I realized that wouldn’t go back to bed……
The sock I used as model was a gift from an Elf princess friend von Norden
I told her that would paint this … but I have plans for more paintings with this model

I was looking for polka and yodel because I didn’t want to have one more Christmas listening to Beach Boys “Christmas special ” , Frank Sinatra’s Christmas Classic…. and other similar stuff I have here in my collection, I thought that as my family was coming to spend the night in my house ( because the dogs and cats of the family live here , not because of me ) I could offer a nice environment of music from Alps with Christmas lyrics.
So I Googled and found many great things , much more and better than I expected, but I found this Swiss family and I thought it wonderful. They are my Ramones now. I intend to send an email to then saying they are the official band from Mein Welt and will be very welcome to play here as all the population of this tiny lost country at the forgotten corner of the world has Oesh’s die Dritten as the new national fever.YEAH !!!Wir sind eine Jodelfamilie!!!!

the best method for painting. by Caio Fern

I think I can really make a revolution about “how to become a greate painter” just because I like to help people and spread my knowlege.

First wake up early in the morning feeling cramps and spend 30 minutes in bed trying to find any excuse to do not paint.
Then realise you have all the excuses on the wold but you are going to do it anyway.
Have on any clothes and go to bathroom and after peeing, brushing teeth and washing the face go to the studio hating yourself.
Spent 20 minutes stopped in front of the table looking to art supplies and again trying to find an excuse to do not even touch it.
After to have found really convincing excuses to turn your back to art and start a brand new normal life, you don’t resist and start to prepare the paint.
Pray to God asking to survive.
Sit in front of the canvasses that had been prepared the night before.
Start to paint.
After few minutes curse everything you see and touch, hate yourself even more and curse every single aspect of your life, past and present.
Complain about the texture of the paint, about the cheap brushes and about the light.
After 30 minutes throw every thing on the floor and say that is giving up.
Pick everything up again and restart the job.
Start to say that painting is the most annoying activity a human being can practice on this planet and make statements affirming that all painters are dumb, the dumbest kind of people in the world ever. That you must to be retarded for being able to enjoy painting. That you hate women that come to talk to you at the parties saying:” I heard you are a painter, I love to paint, isn’t it relaxing and fun ?” Make promises that you will kill everybody that loves to paint.
Say to yourself that you will only paint a small part of the work and leave the rest for the next day.
Don’t resist and keep painting.
Complain that the painting doesn’t obey what you see. Complain that nothing works in this life.
Take few steps from the work and realize it is a crap.
Keep painting for one more hour but it isn’t able to fix anything that was wrong.
Get fiscally exhausted and say it is over and you finished and will never want to see this work again.
take distance and realize it is horrible but you are too exhausted to give a single fuck.
Take a lame picture and post on your blog expecting compliments.

Congratulations. Now you are a real painter

I confess I’ve been a bit satisfied lately with my work ( of painting ).

I believe that I have condensed elements into a more focused way of expression.

The intention towards the works never was to represent anything, but to express the feelings generated during the process of the individual having to deal with itself.

I try to avoid the description of ideas, facts and concepts, what is hard to do when it is about figurative painting, and more, representational art….. as I don’t intend to represent anything, only to use the external light reflected by skin and its volumes on my own face as model for painting.

The real intention behind the works is producing expression by itself. Expression of individual issues behind the struggle for self development and self improvement, but making the artwork to become as independent as possible from the author on its feelings, life and destiny.

I always believed that pictorial values by its plots would be enough for all my needs. But during the whole year of 2011 I focused on composition of the image as a way to increase the conversation among an intention of anti-space, pictorial values, and the viewer.

The intention of denying the external space where the main figure is the only subject is still there and got a new and deeper level of intensity now. It opened the possibility to explore with more efficiency internal spaces found into the individual nature and its process self-discovering and fighting to become reformed, remodeled. Even so one of my earlier concerns was the doubt if exploring more internal spaces the image would naturally spread all over and lose its focus into itself. But I am glad to report that by a not so big effort it didn’t happen, as a matter of fact was the opposite, I have never been able to develop an image into itself as I’ve done lately.

I still have some issues to solve that haven’t made me totally satisfied and again for being able to reach what I need I will have to turn my attention to the improvement of the pictorial values always having in mind I can not lose the achievements obtained my the improvement of the composition.

The problem of the composition is creativity. I always saw creativity as an obstacle and diversion for the purest form of self expression. As I said , pictorial values should be able to deal with all my needs of expression and make the work be able to live by itself. But I confess the creativity demanded by the efforts for composing an image has given me a bigger offer for exploring internal territories and has made easier to deal with the image, maybe creativity is an escape from my main target. I don’t know if its is a phase or if it is another characteristic of my work’s nature that is coming to stay definitely. I say definitely because these characteristics aren’t new, you can observe then on the whole trajectory of my work with more emphasis on the years of 2001 and 2002. But I believe that on all the periods it has appeared in a more or less obvious way.

So in fact I didn’t produce anything really new on 2011, only improved or got more aware of characteristics I have denied for years or simply didn’t feel the necessity to work so hard on it giving the attention I think now it deserves.




CUT -
On these works I intended to only make the main figure have to deal with itself in a way the space around isn’t necessary to be present.
On my paintings over the years ( the last 12 years ) the space around the main figure painted on raw canvasses is denied but here it is totally excluded.
These characteristics are always happening for the same reason. To isolate the individual from the environment and make it be forced to only deal with itself.

















2011 has been a year where I only kept pushing harder what I was doing during 2010. Harder and more intense.
If 2010 was a year where I broke the “pure” Mein Welt aesthetic mixing it with the values of my earlier years and generating a new way to dig deeper what I have searched for the last 12 years, 2011 has been the moment where I take it all and focus on the main target narrowing into very personal view of the individual as spiritual and psychological being.
The relationship with the external world is only noticed by the way the matter reflects the material light and the effects it has under the psychological developing and movements.
…But , It has been one month or so that I don’t paint, I feel I have lost even more control of this process I have never controlled anyway. I am Feeling that soon I will go back to studio but I have no idea of what is going to happen or what direction the work will want to take.
Hope you like these works…. at least we can say that the 2011 production so far can turn into an solo exhibition already. I feel lazy… but when I see what I’ve done , I am not so lazy.

A real Merry Christmas painting, I think this work express so well my Christmas mood and happiness that I must to say it is the most hipper realistic self portrait painting ever made in the whole History of the civilization.
Recently I have had access to some indie movies that are very rare to get so I didn’t watch then for the second time for years always wishing to have the opportunity to watch again.
It was a very good thing because showed me how much I have changed my standards,feelings and life. I did realize I had changed so much and so radically. It is great, as a door towards the freedom had opened and I accepted, passed through going beyond.
Life has been great.
The name of this painting is Standards of Glory.
I thought about to writte the tittle on it, I am still thinking about so maybe the work isn’t totally finished
